LISA TAYLOR
completed a Bachelor of Music degree at New England Conservatory, a Master Of Music degree at Peabody Conservatory, and attended the advanced Music Studies Program at The Banff Centre. Before becoming an official Midwesterner, she was a member of the Annapolis Symphony, played extra with the Baltimore Symphony, and enjoyed a summer contract at the Mozarteum in Salzburg near a bakery with exceptional strudel. She is currently principal horn in the Park Ridge Orchestra and a member of the Chicago Chamber Orchestra. She has played with many local groups, including the Illinois and Kenosha Symphony Orchestras. In addition to the Chicago Horn Quartet, Lisa is also a member of the Sapphire Woodwind Quintet, the Cathedral Brass Quintet, and has enjoyed playing with Jeff Hedberg's jazz band C11. According to her teenagers, the coolest gig so far was playing in the backup orchestra for Clay Aiken (American Idol) on one of his midwestern tours. Lisa's most unusual gig was as the alphorn player for some Amstel Beer promotional events. She also has degrees in mechanical engineering, and colleagues learn not to leave any instrument with moving parts unguarded.
